Missions

Guys Serving on the Retreat

At NCCS, we believe in the “I’m Third” Principle. “I’m Third,” means God first, Others second, and I’m Third. Our desire is to reach students with the good news of Jesus Christ and to help them become devoted followers of Christ. The best way to be the hands and feet of Christ is to serve others in His name. Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities to participate in mission projects and trips geared to give our students a chance to share the love of Christ.

Are you looking for an opportunity to serve? Check out the list below. This list offers a variety of ongoing projects. Keep in mind that our school offers at least one major service project a month. You can find out more about those in chapel and on the website. Once you have completed your community service, you should turn in the paperwork to get your Community Service credit for the year. The paperwork can be downloaded here: NCCS Community Service Form

Cobb County Relay for Life:
Relay For Life®, the American Cancer Society’s signature event, is a fun-filled overnight experience designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer. At Relay, people from within the community gather to celebrate survivors, remember those lost to cancer, and to fight back against this disease. Relay participants help raise money and awareness to support the American Cancer Society in its lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a major health issue. During Relay For Life ® events, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. The events are held overnight to represent the fact that cancer never sleeps.

The American Cancer Society is trying to make this difficult situation easier for cancer patients and their families through 22 Hope Lodges – free, temporary housing facilities for cancer patients who are undergoing treatment. But Hope Lodges are more than just a place to stay – they provide a home-like nurturing environment, so patients can get support from others going through the same experience. A cancer survivor’s recovery involves much more than medical treatments; it takes hope to heal. Hope Lodge offers the warmth and security of home in a setting where the love and encouragement of others enlighten and inspire guests. At Hope Lodge, guests rally around each other, building life-affirming connections and lifetime friendships.
